One of the most popular type of charities are those that work to provide for the safety and welfare of various animals. These could be wild animals, domestic animals, stray animals or even therapeutic animals. With all the different types of charities out there it can be hard to find one that focuses on a cause that you want to support. Here we will spotlight a humane charity that focuses on the safety and welfare of stray cats. This charity is known as the Alley Cat Rescue.

The Alley Cat Rescue is a charitable organizational that works to help rehabilitate, rescue and save stray cats that have been abandoned by previous owners. This organization will take in the stray cats and work them back to health and make them house trained and ready to adopt. They will then work with one of the nation’s largest pet supply store known as Pet Smart to get the animals adopted.

The Alley Cat Rescue also works to help reduce the number of stray cats that are out in the wild. It is estimated that stray animals especially cats has increased by 40% in the past two years. In order to make sure that these animals are not breeding and running around in the wild, Alley Cat Rescue offers a program known as the Trap-Return-Neuter program. This program is devoted to trapping feral cats, neutering them and then returning them to their original place. This is believed to cut back on the number of strays in the world.

Another program that the Alley Cat Rescue works for is the Free Spray or Neuter Day. This day works with local vets to offer one or two days of free spray or neutering clinics so that every cat or dog is fixed which can reduce the amount of stray animals that are present in the world.
