Whether you are investing in youth development, education, or senior
programs join the Grantmaker Forum and learn how service and volunteering
is transforming these fields and creating stronger communities locally
and nationally.
The Grantmaker Forum aims to build support for service and volunteering
as a strategy for cultivating values that are important to American
democracy: the value of civic engagement and the value of personal
and community responsibility. Though focused primarily on the philanthropic
sector, the Grantmaker Forum strives to build broad-based, cross-sector
support for community and national service.
We welcome grantmakers and other interested community leaders to learn
more about the history of the
Grantmaker Forum and to join us in our efforts.

with other foundation, non-profit, business and government leaders
who are interested in promoting the value of community and national

- Expand
your knowledge of the major issues facing the filed of service
and volunteering

grantmaking practices.

in national policy-level discussions about the future of service

Ways
to Become Involved in the Grantmaker Forum
- Become
a member and receive Grantmaker Forum publications and invitations
to events.
- Attend
Grantmaker Forum conferences and workshops throughout the country.
- Collaborate
with the Grantmaker Forum in producing publications and sponsoring
events that highlight promising models of service and volunteering.
- Participate
in one of the Grantmaker Forum's Working Groups and help shape
philanthropy's contribution to promoting promising service and
volunteer models.
- Become
a member of the Grantmaker Forum's Board of Directors and help
lead the organization in advancing its important agenda.
Membership
Criteria and Dues
Membership is open to any individual or organization committed to
promoting the value and ethic of service and volunteering. Our voluntary
dues structure is designed to encourage the participation of all
qualifying groups. The dues structure is as follows:
Institutional
Grantmaking organizations. An institution may designate up to six
staff or trustees to receive all the benefits of membership on their
behalf.
Dues based on total grantmaking budget:
- Less
than $1M: $300
- $1-$5M:
$500
- $6-$10M:
$1,000
- $11-$50M: $2,500
- Over
$50M: $5,000 and above
Individual
Individuals who are staff or trustees of grantmaking organizations
or donors with individual giving programs of $25,000 or more.
Dues: $250
Affiliate
Non-grantmaking organizations or individuals. Organizations that
join may designate only one person to receive membership benefits.
Dues: $150
